Project to Stabilise Slope in Rehabilitation of Venda Nova III Dam
CENOR is carrying out a Construction Project to stabilise slopes in the Salamonde reservoir as part of the rehabilitation of the Venda Nova III Dam.
The slope is more than 60 metres in height, at the base of which rehabilitation work is being carried out. Excavation will be done on a range of granite-embedded metasediments that have been intensely metamorphosed and fractured.
The slopes have maximum declines of 10V/1H, while the containment will feature permanent GEWI® soil nails and preliminary nails using A500NR steel bars, associated with shotcrete reinforced with electro welded mesh.
Near the slope’s crest, the containment will be reinforced by a concrete wall with active anchors.
