Mr. Pedro Tavares, CENOR Chairman, received last February 6th, on a public ceremony which was attended by the Portuguese Minister of Economy and by the Secretary of State for Innovation, Investment and Competitiveness, the “PME Excelência 2013” (SME Excellence) Prize, awarded to 1.1000 Portuguese SME which distinguished themselves in the Portuguese business universe by their higher performance level.
This prize is a business qualification statute created by IAPMEI (Portuguese Institute to Support Small and Medium Enterprises and Investment), in a partnership with several entities: ITP – Portuguese Institute for Tourism, Barclays, Banco Espírito Santo (BES), Banco Português de Investimento (BPI), Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), Crédito Agrícola (CA), Millennium BCP, Montepio and Santander Totta.
The companies awarded with the “PME Excelência” prize are selected from the companies already awarded with the “PME Líder” statute, and that additionally meet the following criteria:
– Be at the first 2 rating levels (AAA or AA) based on the 2012 Annual Report and Accounts;
– Comply with the following financial criteria, substantiated on the 2012 financial statements:
a) Financial autonomy (Equity/Assets) >= 35%;
b) Growth in turnover >= 5%;
c) Return on Equity (Net results/ Equity)>= 10%
d) Return on Assets (Net results / Net Assets)>= 3%
