DESCRIPTION

The Hydroagricultural project of Cova da Beira consists of the following works:

  • Sabugal Dam, the fourth largest dam embankment of the country, with a volume of landfill of 2.000.000m3;
  • Hydraulic Circuit of Sabugal-Meimoa, which included the construction of a tunnel of 4,1km with TBM Ø3,6m and a pressured pipe Ø1.400 to 900 and 650m of length;
  • General channel of trapezoidal section, with 10m2 and 46km of length;
  • Zoned – earth dam with a maximum height of 21m, length of 286m and a volume of 96.000m3;
  • Network with 564 gravity irrigation hydrants equipped with automation system, benefiting of an area of 3.180ha, constituted of 132km of pipelines with Ø ≤1.400.
