DESCRIPTION

CENOR, in association with AQUALOGUS, made the preliminary design of Gouvães, Padroselos, Alto Tâmega and Daivões hydropower schemes, the two latter one having now entered the design for tender phase, based on the following characteristics:

  • Alto Tâmega hydropower scheme: Double curvature arch dam, in Tâmega river, 108m hight above foundation and 285m long at crest. Dam-toe powerhouse, with two nonreversible Francis turbines: 160m3/s maximum discharge and 118MW maximum output.
  • Daivões hydropower scheme: Arch-gravity dam, in Tâmega river, 75m hight above foundation and 266m long at crest. Damtoe powerhouse, with two non-reversible Francis turbines: 220m3/s maximum discharge and 118MW maximum output.
