DESCRIPTION

Torre do Lóbio pumping station

  • The Torre do Lóbio pumping station, located downstream of the Serpa dam, on the right bank of the river, pumps water to the Northern Serpa Reservoir.
Equipped with four horizontal-shaft electrical pump sets, with a capacity to raise a flow of 1,05m3/s per set, to a dynamic head of 76,4mCA.
The building of the pumping station consists of a hall in which the sets are installed, with an average ceiling height of 6,90m.

North Serpa reservoir

  • The North Serpa reservoir serves to regularise, control and ensure the safety of the irrigation blocks by directly supplying the secondary block of North Serpa.
The supply of the North Serpa reservoir is effected through the Serpa pipeline, which channels the entire flow from the Serpa dam and is pressurised by the Lóbio pumping station.

Serpa pipeline

  • The pipeline has a length of 4Km, built using Ø1.800mm steel piping, running alongside the road that links Brinches to Serpa, and transports water between the Serpa dam and the North Serpa reservoir.
The services provided included the control of all construction work, electrical facilities, the installation of electromechanical, automation and security.
