DESCRIPTION

The Bridge over the river Alcabrichel, in Porto Novo, replaces a former demolished bridge whose safety was affected due to yield in the foundation of one of its piers. The bridge structure, with a total length of 50m, consists of a portal frame of 3 spans, with a main span of 25m and side spans of 12,5m. The reinforced, longitudinally prestressed, concrete deck is materialized by trapezoidal shaped girders with constant cross-sections. This project also included the regularization of the Alcabrichel river bed in the area surrounding the bridge.
