DESCRIPTION

The Baixo Alentejo road Subconcession, assigned to the Grupo Rodoviário do Baixo Alentejo Consortium, represents a total investment of 690 million Euros for a 30 years period. This project comprises the construction of a new toll motorway between Sines and Beja, the construction of the IP2 between Évora and S. Manços, the construction of ER261-5 between Sines and Santo André, in addition to the improvement and maintenance of other existing roads. Cenor carried out the design review, which focused on the assessment of both the final and preliminary designs of about 150 civil engineering structures, including a new Bridge over the Sado River, 10 Viaducts, 9 Small Bridges, 59 Overpasses, 20 Underpasses, 35 underpasses for agricultural purposes and 47 drainage culverts and wildlife underpasses.
