With regard to the construction of the Buraca/Pontinha stretch in the IC17-CRIL, Cenor carried out the design review of several civil engineering structures. In fact, both the acknowledge expertise of Cenor in addition to its deep knowledge of this road infrastructure led to an involvement in this work. Generally speaking, the design projects of 7 overpasses, 3 underpasses, 2 viaducts as well as the Benfica and Venda Nova cut-and-cover tunnels were assessed. With regard to some specific features, one may highlight the technical complexity of these engineering structures included in an urban context. Moreover, the preservation of the historical heritage plays also a role in this work, namely the Águas livres and Francesas Aqueducts, whose layout is one of the main constraints to the construction of Benfica tunnel.
