DESCRIPTION

The Beiras Litoral e Alta Concession, with a total length of 160km, includes the IP5 stretch between Albergaria (IP1) and Vilar Formoso. The design review of all the 40 bridges and viaducts was carried out by Cenor. Given the impossibility to describe all the structures, one shall highlight the ones with distinct technical and/or constructive features. The Bridge over the Côa River, whose design project was developed by A2P, comprises spans of 42,5m. This bridge, with a total length of 618m, consists of a reinforced prestressed concrete deck, with a TT-cross-section. It is also worth noting the maximum height of 88m of the piers. The bridge over the Vouga River, also in reinforced prestressed concrete, has a total length of 258m and consists of 5 spans, with a main span of 80m. The box girder deck, with variable height, was built by the cantilever method with segments casted in place. The design project was developed by STA. The bridge over the Dão River, consisting of a structure designed by Lisconcebe and with a total length of 210m, comprises a composite deck with spans of 48m. It is also worth taking into consideration the rehabilitation and repairing of the Fagilde Bridge over the Dão River, whose design project was developed by Armando Rito.
