DESCRIPTION

The Viaduct over the Labruja River is located in the Estorãos/Ponte de Lima Stretch of A27. This structure, with a total length of 647m between abutments, consists of 19 spans, with main spans of 35m and side spans of 26m. The viaduct comprises two independent decks with similar geometric and structural features and separated by a longitudinal joint 0,2m wide. Each deck consists of a casted in place flat slab 12,9m wide with two concrete precast pretensioned U shaped beams. The reinforced concrete piers, whose circular cross-sections shafts, 1,3m in diameter, reach heights varying approximately between 5,9m and 8,9m above the ground. Stub abutments were defined, which, together with the piers, are supported by deep foundations consisting of piles 1,5m in diameter. This project is included in the Norte Litoral Concession for which Cenor, in partnership with another design office, developed the design projects of 15 Viaducts. These Viaducts, with a total extension of about 4500m, have structural features similar to the ones previously described.
